URI :TAINTED MEASURES
ARVIND K.PANDEY
It's sad to know that relief works in Uri following the quake have been tainted by red-tape and haughtiness of the State officials . Worse , the government's relief measures are devoid of proper vision and well-coordinated steps . It's shocking that corrupt officials are little ashamed in cashing-in-on the calamities. India should make arrangements to share Japan's experience to enrich its disaster management initiatives . At this point of time all what we need is expertise to elevate the standards of relief measures . By just beating the bush with careless and insensitive approach towards the grievances of the victims , we are simply intensifying their pains . It's abundantly clear that there is little merit in hailing modern India's achievements unless it rises above present work-culture .
