MEDIA:HAUNTED BY URBAN WOMEN

The media of our time seems to be obsessed with gliterring achievements of urban women , to an extent that stark realities envirioning women hailing from lower strata of society do not appear to be news worthy . Let us not be fooled enough to believe that life has turned into bed of roses for middle class women , only because higher-ups are living flashy , independent lives . Apart from throwing light on success of top brass , there is urgent need to bring the real picture of Indian woman . That means really empowerd segments of women's belonging to rural areas ,battling out life's ironies with exemplary courage , should be given top priority in such reports, which at present seem to suggest that women defying traditional roles are the only one's worthy of emulation . No body is bothered at what cost they materialise their dreams.
