SALMAN RUSHDIE:A MASTER CREATOR

It's the incisive insight of Rushdie which has enabled him to remain the ' hotspot ' in the literary world for such a long period . His profound understanding of the human nature allows him to conceive wide range of interesting characters in plots close to the real life, something so evident in Shalimar The Clown .Ironically , close encounters with conflicts of both inner and external world has helped the writer to wrest a larger -than -life space in the literary arena . Rushdie , too, happliy embodies this paradox of writer's life to evolve into a better writer as the time passes by.

This is what Rushdie writes for the Queen of Britain. "chamcha.....he found himself dreaming of the Queen, of making tender love to the Monarch. She was the body of Britain, the avatar of the State, and he had chosen her, joined with her; she was his Beloved, the moon of his delight.". Chamcha refers to the character of Rushdiie himself. Amazing, he writes about conjoining with the Queen and the Queen awards him with Knighthood. Amazing!!!

Dear Berlin 72 ,

Indeed , a very interesting remark . You remind me of ancient times when poets/writers used to sing peans exaggerating good work done by the kings. Even today , many writers in my country engage in flattery to receive awards . It appears that Salman Rushdie has joined this class of writers .

Anyway, let's acknowledge the fact that he is a class writer . Keep visiing the site with intersting remark !!
